Course Synopsis

The National Environment Agency (NEA) has declared it necessary for all cleaners to take at least one WSH cleaning course and one Core Module in order to be qualified for the renewal of a cleaning business licence and stay in compliance.

Attending more approved courses is advised for current cleaners who want to improve their skills and advance in the environmental service industry in order to stay relevant and competitive.

It is best for new cleaners who want to work in the environmental services sector to take two WSQ mandatory courses and earn certificates for one WSH course and one Core Module.

This course is a Level 1 course that will address knowledge and multi-skill requirements in dealing with customers. Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) available.

What You'll Learn

Specifically, you will:
  • Identify the different service environment triggers that could possibly result in service challenges.

  • Offer excellent customer service by promptly responding to queries from clients.

  • Identify and use problem-solving methods and tools to determine the needs of customers.

  • Use effective communication to pinpoint and define the wants and needs of the client.

  • Use service recovery techniques to address service issues

  • Create and support an effective, streamlined process for reviewing complaints and resolving them.

Course Objectives

This course will equip the learners with the following skills and knowledge:
  • Develop confidence and project a positive image to the customer and obtain direct feedback from the customer(s) so as to make improvements to the quality of service provided.

  • Identify the causes of workplace problems and provide constructive solutions by defining the problem, collecting information and processing a solution.

  • Learning to use problem-solving tools at work will inspire them to be more self-reliant and develop important thinking skills to be contributing as members of the cleaning team.

Course Fees After Subsidy

  • *Course fees payable is subject to 8% GST charged based on the full course fees before subsidy.
  • **Absentee payroll is claimable up to $4.50 per hour, capped at $100.000 per enterprise per calendar year.

SME Eligibility Criteria

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • At least 30% local shareholding by Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Empoyment size of not more than 200 (at group level) or with annual sales turnover (at group level) of not more than $100 million
